This is a six-day report and the total precipitation for this period was 0.27 inches of rain. Days continue to shorten with cooling temperatures which have helped to moderate the lack of precipitation. Many trees are still vivid in color but more leaves appear to be on the ground than on branches. Local creeks and ponds are running about normal. Outdoor activity, even on fair days, is noticeably diminished but not absent. Farmers have been busy plowing under their soybeans and corn. There’s a definite feel of transitioning onto the latter half of autumn but, in spite of the short-term forecast, it doesn’t quite feel like winter yet. Overall, conditions are about normal.
