Thus far for my “Watershed,” that resides in the “Upper Passaic River” Watershed, that covers from 1.5 miles to the NW to about 1.5 miles to the SE and is about 1 mile in width and in the general shape of a diamond;

There were two days with measurable precipitation and no days with trace precipitation for a total of 2.98”, the past seven days [Sunday-Sat]. River and stream volume the past week of the CMR increased rates of flow over small lake dams west of this station. As of Sunday morning, 11/2; one increased its flow to 40% the width of the dam 6.5 miles from this station moving at a moderate volume and with some turbidity. The other, 2 miles to the west, also increased its flow over its fall, now covering 30% of its respective fall and moving at a similar, volume with turbidity. The Madison Golf Course, adjacent this station had observable play again this past week on all days with daily watering of greens and fairways. The ground around this station is moist and soft. Grass and weeds required maintenance the past week. Maple trees are looking well with fall color now past peak the past few days, with brown and color leaves. Also, the Juvenal Oak’s and two Ginkgo Trees, are doing well. FALL color on and around this station, now 90% of leaves have turned a color with 70% of leaves fallen. Yellow Jacket Bees were  observed. House Finch were very active, along with Blue Jays. Neighborhood squirrels were observed along with a Chipmunk. Also; the neighborhood Ginkgo trees began dropping their stinky fruits exactly on 9/26 and have lost all of their fruit as of this report. However, still, their stink continues strong and has spread to other Ginkgo trees. The first Frost observation for this station, this season, was reported on October 10th. Since then; I have observed and reported a total of 3 more days the past seven, for a  total of five this season.

Over the past 31 days; this station has captured and reported 1.79 inches of precipitation. There has been 109 days of precipitation the previous 296 days of CY2025 [1/1/2025 to 10/25/2025] for a “Calendar Year” [CY] total of 
40.65”, compared to (again) 100 Precipitation Days” and a [CY] total of (again) 47.41” the same [year to date] in CY2024. So far, compared to last year, this station has received 9.74” less precipitation than a year ago. Some other totals from previous years, for comparison, are;

The running ELEVEN year average reported precipitation for THIS station is: 44.04”  inches, placing this station at a deficit of 3.39” less then the 11 year average and making this year to date, (still) the fifth driest year monitoring this station. Considering the eleven year annual comparable total for this station, is why I believe that it is appropriate to continue this week’s report to the “Mildly Dry” side of the Condition Scale Bar.
