Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CO-LR-1238
Station Name: Fort Collins 6.5 NNW
Report Date: 10/7/2025
Submitted: 10/07/2025 8:00 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Wet
Description:
The rains we’ve had since mid-September have really helped us recover from terrible summer drought, but at what an odd time of year…. very late monsoon-like weather. In our pasture, for the first time this year, the blue and side-oats gramma grasses are suddenly flourishing and have sent up seed heads! Usually this happens only earlier in the summer. We also, unfortunately, suddenly have lush resurgences of bindweed and other undesirable non native weeds. There is still standing water in some places nearby (within 2-3 miles in low-lying locations), though not on our property. The soil is well moistened and even saturated in some areas where it’s more compacted. Reservoir levels are up, though this is likely greatly compounded by flows from the high country for winter storage.
