Sunny and hot with light winds, then mostly clear and warm overnight with light winds becoming partly cloudy by dawn. The high temperature was around eighty degrees and the low around sixty degrees Fahrenheit. Songbirds are eating a feederful a day. Asters, Chicory, Goldenrod, Prunella vulgaris are blooming. Apples are ripening, half are gone. Over half the leaves are turning color, some maples are over 3/4 red. Most Black Cherry trees have lost leaves. Milkweed is going to seed. Canadian Geese, Blackbirds and sparrows have larger flocks. Some of the nearby trout stream is dry. Potatoes are being harvested, walnuts are falling, a few corn fields are being cut.
