Fall colors are in a good swing as far as color change and leaves dropping. Cleaned up leaves 5 of out 7 days. My Red Maple is 1/2 shed and my neighbor's orange one is 3/4. Both younger trees but other maples still have theirs and some maples have not even turned yet and some just the tops. Other trees like Sumac and elder, their leaves are changing and dropping too and some older birch. Although there is a lot of green yet, I'd say 30%-35% is colored leaves.
Had some days of dense fog for a few hours after sunrise form and stay until mid morning. Really dense in the hours of 6 to 8:30 with it slowly rising and dissipate with the day's warming and the sun. One day lasted until 10 a.m. before dissipating.
Skunks are out and digging for grubs. True though.
I noticed the soil after it dug and how dry the soil was at the surface or about 1"-2" deep and how quickly it dried up. Haven't seen many deer around the neighborhood and not sure why or other animals like squirrels rabbits or chipmunks. Birds are in abundance though. Saw 2 flocks of geese heading south this week.
Saw just a few campers this week and trucks towing boats. Construction vehicles have maintained their frequency and logging trucks picked up a little.
