Description:
August 9-15, 2025
Brignac, Louisiana

On Tuesday midday, this area experienced some training effects due to the rain that occurred as a tropical system passed through the Gulf of Mexico. Despite receiving a half-inch of rainfall on Tuesday, road construction continued. On Wednesday, the heat index reached a scorching 110 degrees at 3:00 p.m., but little rain was visible on radar images. Fortunately, soil moisture is good, and lawn grasses are pushing vigorously. To prevent clippings from piling up, mowing should be done every 5 days or sooner if grass growth is adequate. This week, solarization of the front lawn will be completed after two months of diligently moving the plastic around and eliminating grass, seeds, insects, and some diseases. Still too hot and sticky at night to enjoy the evenings!
