We had another series of very wet foggy nights with light drizzle this week, helping to keep the landscape on the coast moist. However, our volunteer fire department had to handle two small debris and brush fires in our area this week, both man-caused. Fortunately, they have the fast attack trucks to knock these down quickly, so there was little damage, but there is always a chance of spread just inland from the coast where conditions are hotter and dryer. More potable water trucks around filling water tanks as the more shallow wells start to go dry. Signs of Fall continue with shrubs and trees starting to change color. The area is still full of RVs and campers and will continue to be until the Labor Day holiday. Ocean conditions have been calm for fishing and water sports.
