Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MA-BA-57
Station Name: Falmouth 5.7 N
Report Date: 1/23/2022
Submitted: 1/23/2022 7:14 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Other than lack of snowpack - not all that rare around here for the past few years - things are pretty much normal. 1.26” total in the past week, most from rain Monday/Tuesday. The effect of that and the spring feed of the pond has been dramatic; last week, pond was down approximately 18” due to bog flooding; now, it’s back within approximately 6” of control depth. The pond is going back and forth between largely iced over (skim coat) and largely open, depending on temp and wind; the swans are nonplussed but the ducks aren’t pleased. Bogs aren't totally frozen either, a bit surprising but we've seen some fairly significant temperature swings. Terrestrial bird activity remains normal.
