Notes: Conglomerated hail was clogging the RainGauge funnel this morning. Ice drifts remain at the time of this rerport (08:15 10 Aug). Hail accumilations after the storm was 4 to 5 inches deep with some areas deeper, most stones were about penny sized. Hail started out with largest sones, getting smaller the longer the hail fell. No rain received while the hail was falling, heavy rain lasting only 2 or 3 minutes came in as the hail stopped. Leaves shredded, young tree branches upto an inch in diameter broke off, Rose bushes are piles of broken branches, some damage to shingles, corn & sunflowers that were over 5-Ft tall are now less then 2-ft tall, raspberry plants are all broken off at 1-ft or shorter. Beans, tomatoes, squash, & cucumber plants are just piles of green shreds. UPDATE: Just noted that hard plastic garbage can lids & several 5-gallon buckets resting on top of fence posts all have large holes punched thru them & a few new pits in the truck windshield. Still lots of piles & "drifts" of hail & ice remain.
