| Description: |
This weekend I spent a lot of hours planting trees, transplanting, amending soil, so I had a lot of time to observe the surroundings. I have not seen any hummingbirds in over a week, I still have fresh food for those in transit. I noticed one or two butterflies in the garden. I have not seen the a lot of deer as of late nor a lot of birds at the feeder. The ground at the bottom of the hill was quite saturated but most of it is clay and that tends to hold moisture. Behind the house, which is sits on top of the hill the ground is much drier. Leaves are falling, but I do not see the striking colors of last year. The raw water from the well is a light pink, which means the water table is low. |
