Notes: 8.5 inches of new snow on top of existing 1 inch of ice from earlier in week. Snow began falling just before 7am on the 31st and ended around 11pm. The fluffiest powder I recall experiencing in NC (meltwater equivalent of storm total yields a 21.75 to one ratio). Largest snow in some years, strong winds overnight making some drifts.
