Our dry streak finally ended this past week as I measure 0.34" of rain across five days! Although the quantities were small at least it was precipitation which we needed. I ceased reporting snow pack information as the coverage was extremely fragmented as in less than 10%. The high temps remained above normal which has really opened up the streams and rivers and even the lakes are showing open water. The moose remain MIA but the wild birds are loving the warm sunshine. Sadly, so are the damned mosquitoes which are definitely back! Right on the heels of said mosquitoes are the tourists; the tour buses are regularly clogging the Spur into Talkeetna.
