I just dug 2-foot holes for planting trees, finding some moisture beneath our dry surface. But the ground was dry enough that I needed to fill the shallow starts of my holes with water and let it soak in before completing the holes. We are in a rainy/snowy weekend, but it will take much more than today’s .03 inches of moisture to ease the dryness.
