Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CO-LR-1272
Station Name: Estes Park 1.7 SW
Report Date: 5/5/2024
Submitted: 5/05/2024 11:44 AM
Scale Bar: Near Normal
Description:
Probably on the dry side of Near Normal in spite of the recent moisture. The Snotel SWE readings in my drainage are green, as are most of the northern Colorado basins. Runoff has begun on the Big Thompson and Fall River. Ground around my property is damp and the grasses and sedges are beginning to green up. Currant bush buds are breaking and just a little green is showing. Aspens in my yard are pushing out leaves. Lots of bird activity in the past week. Swallows (Tree or Violet-green, not sure which) and Western Bluebirds are looking for nesting sites. Snow in the lower elevations is gone, but the high peaks are well covered in snow.
