Description:
A wet beginning to May with almost 3 inches of rain, equaling 133% of the May average. October water year now 10 inches above the PRISM yearly total with 61.46”—now 7th wettest year in last 38 years here. Slightly cooler week with 3 days in the high 30s. Ruth Lake Reservoir 101% on 5/1.  The rain brought the rivers up, with the Mad River at 9.96 ft and 3609.1 cfs/Eel River at 14.0 ft and 9148.4 cfs. California Fish and Wildlife closed the recreational razor clam fisheries due to high levels of domoic acid—what we used to call the “no clams or mussels in the months without an “r” rule” in Southern California.
