Notes
I observed something last night I don't recall ever seeing before. There was a small storm west/northwest of us (McPherson area)and with the lightning I could see an overshooting top above our residence. Very shortly after noticing that, we heard a constant roaring noise (completely different noise from the rumble of thunder). Back in Brazil where I grew up, that same noise usually meant we'd be seeing quite a lightning show. Suddenly, out of the dark, it started hailing. Absolutely no rain with it, just hail, approximately nickel-sized. It hailed for approximately 5 minutes before we started getting a little rain with it. I think it hailed for about 10 minutes total. This happened last night around 23:05.
