The last precipitation here was 16 days ago and the soil is very dry. Last night's wind left fine dust suspended in the air this morning which could be smelled but which was not detected by the air quality monitors. Many of the tree buds which opened last week seem half dead - small and sick looking. The deep freeze of Feb. 14 and/or the dry winter have affected them. Green plants which have appeared seem to have already stopped growing.
The water supply is adequate, with only voluntary conservation efforts in effect. Sandia mountain snowpack is minimal; today is the last day of skiing there.
