Soil conditions remain severely dry this week. A promising mid-week storm only brought strong winds to the metro area as the infamous Albuquerque snow hole developed and only a trace of snow was received. The windy conditions just exasperated the drying conditions and caused visibility problems due to blowing dust on a few days this week. For the month, another 0.53” behind normal added to the precipitation deficit of 6.65” for the YTD. Rio Grande flow holding steady this week around 200 cfs. Aquifer draw down continuing on area wells. Not much wildlife activity this week. Fire danger remain high with continued drying of fuels and not much snow received. Air quality moderate for much of the week due to particulate matter and dust in the air. COVID-19 cases reman high throughout much of the state.
