Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CO-LR-762
Station Name: Fort Collins 4.6 N
Report Date: 11/30/2020
Submitted: 11/30/2020 7:06 AM
Scale Bar: Moderately Dry
Description:
This month ends with a total of 2.2-inches of snowfall and 0.65-inches of precipitation. November of 2019 ended with 17.7-inches of snowfall. It is very dry. Where the soil is exposed there are cracks. Birds and squirrels come to my bird bath to get water. There are concerns about water quality due the massive fires in the mountains that started last August. About half of our county is in Severe Drought (D3), while the Rocky Mountains to the west are in Exceptional Drought (D4). If this lack of precipitation lasts much longer there will be worries about water supply. Wildfires are still a concern due to abundance of dry vegetation.
