This week saw some farm field work start even though I received 0.33 inches of rain including yesterdays fast moving storms. Areas around me however got much greater amounts of rain. My pond and area creeks are normal and the Illinois River continues to go down but slowly. My grass is growing very fast and I am having trouble keeping up. I was able to get some radishes and kohlrabi seed planted in my garden before the rain yesterday. I have garden plants growing in pots waiting for warmer and dryer weather. I think that I will keep my assessment at Severely Wet because of the wet year we are having, the continued rains, and the greater rainfall around my location. I saw my first bean field and my first corn field up Saturday but only one so far.
