Last Friday it poured!  My rain gauge sits nearer the house in the winter time and is protected on the east side.  Most of our rain does not come from that direction, but this storm did send rain from the east.  Even so, we had 1.92 inches of rain.  Neighbors (on other side of mountains) reported more than 4 inches.  Most of the trees are leafing out now.  And the dogwoods and redbuds are blooming.  The soil is wet, but not soggy - we live near the top of the ridge and rarely see sitting water.  The rivers and streams nearby are all full and muddy, but not overflowing.
