Description:
Mildly wet based on conditions prior to freeze and snow. 0.27 inches of liquid precipitation from storm of 2/17-18. Last event was 2/13 of 4 inches of snow melted to 2 in before current. Snow cover now 3.5 inches and 1.12 liquid.

Hudson River ice broken at the Kingston Rhinecliff bridge. Many ice floes on river.
Small pond levels are above average. Large Mill Rd Pond (9 acres open) is unfrozen in stream channel to dam. Ducks, geese and swans again populate open water areas.
First signs of spring smelled on 2/16 followed by 2 dead skunks in the middle of the road Sunday morning -Aw      the start of spring. Spotted a flock of turkeys in farm field outside Claverack NY on 2/18.
