Station Number: NC-MS-5
Station Name: Marshall 13.6 NNW
Report Date: 12/16/2018
Submitted: 12/16/2018 10:06 PM
Scale Bar: Moderately Wet
Description:
Although this week only saw .61" of precipitation, the ground is soggy and slippery. The 6" snow was heavy and wet and started with freezing rain. The last of the snow remained until yesterday. The heavy snow flattened some hoop houses of commercial growers in our area. In our garden, low hoops over the kale collapsed, but the kale was still good. Additional moisture brought out boaters on local rivers. The French Broad had over 8,000 cfs yesterday, 7600 cfs today. That's 6,000 cfs above the 76 year median. The microhydro is still running on full. The drinking spring remains excellent quality and quantity.
