Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: WA-ST-11
Station Name: Evans 2.0 NNW
Report Date: 10/21/2017
Submitted: 10/21/2017 6:52 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
With this week's 0.67 inches of lightly falling precipitation, conditions have improved considerably. Open fire ban has been lifted and the air has been cleaned. Soil moisture has improved at the surface, but is still very dry at lower levels, Small creeks and streams have not shown any sign of increased flows due to the rains being absorbed by the very dry vegetation and soil surface. Agriculture activities are confined to soil amending and general cleanup. Vegetation is in full Fall color with leaf dropping increasing daily. As an added note, we now have a small resident herd of Mule Deer living here in our locality. Since their habitat has always been confined to land west of the Columbia River, the herd must have swam the river to the east side.
