Some welcome rain reported 7 and 8 June totaled 12.7mm after 9 days of virtually nothing. Streams, springs, shallow wells all lower now, more like normal summer conditions. Growth is peak with tree leaves fully out; grasses becoming full height and starting to flower. Pink lady's slippers now flowering in the woods; Clintonia lily is finished and Canada may lily fading. Mosquitoes are now out, joining the blackflies (fortunately at different times of day) and I even saw one deer fly this past week. Temperatures have been variable but I did plant the tomato plants out on 6 June. Beans and corn are coming up more reliably now. More signs of tourists, but it's not really busy yet. The whole province was red on the burn map (no burning at any time) late last week, but switched to all green with the rain on the weekend (6-7 June).
