A dry week and May rainfall so far only 0.43", 24% of normal.  ETo jumped to 0.56".  Average high 65.3f, low 47.0f.  Ruth Lake Reservoir remains at 100% of capacity.  No change in the California Drought Map.  The inland rivers are beginning to warm up some, and the Mad and Eel rivers continue to drop.  Pastures remain green as are the weeds in my yard, and the deer are making good use of them.  Prescribed burns continue in the area to take advantage of what moisture remains in the plants and debris before the hot temperatures of the summer arrive.  More travel trailers and campers seen on the roads, and the bane of summer travelers, Cal Trans roadway work, has begun. Hwy 299 at Buckhorn Summit will experience delays of up to 15 minutes for the next three weeks due to slide repairs.
