Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: NH-MR-9
Station Name: Concord 3.8 SSE
Report Date: 5/24/2026
Submitted: 5/24/2026 7:49 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Radar showed light green overnight, but the gauge was dry. According to WMUR weather report, the air is so dry that the rain evaporated before getting to the ground. Needing to water potted plants over the past week. The lawn is doing well. Our agriculture, including chives, rhubarb and asparagus is doing well also. Not watering that. Using the heat pump even though it seems really cold. When it got up to 80-90 degrees last week, I put my winter PJ’s away. Finally had to get them out again. The temperatures have been in 40’s overnight and at most low 70’s during the day. Yesterday only got into the 60’s.
Our Hostas survived a vigorous raking by a couple of people who came and blew all the leaves out of our garden. Plants were ripped apart or out. We had one gorgeous pink tulip this year. That’s gone now. Daffodils are done, too.
No water restrictions. Everybody and his brother drove up into our White Mountains yesterday only to be facing a cloudy and rainy weekend. The water temperature in lakes and rivers is too cold to swim in and warnings are out for boaters to always wear life jackets because if their boat capsized, they wouldn’t be able to buckle a life jacket nor work a radio before losing too much body warmth to function. We have had some good rainfall last week and the Merrimack River rose up to around 9-11 feet. Still in a drought. No water restrictions. Water quality great.
