Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: CO-LR-1272
Station Name: Estes Park 1.7 SW
Report Date: 10/5/2025
Submitted: 10/05/2025 10:11 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
I remain well below normals. YTD I am at 69% of PRISM Normal. Too early in the Month and Water Year to report on; however previous Water Year (2025) was 71% of PRISM Normal. Thankfully we are entering the dormant season for plants. There is a little sub-surface soil moisture but dry on the top. Most plants are normal but some shrubs are showing drought stress, and I have lost a couple of currant bushes and others may not over-winter. Elk and deer are frequenting the area. I had a good group of elk in the yard yesterday morning browsing. Hummingbirds have all left for the season. Other birds are around frequenting the garden and bird bath. River levels are lower than period-of-record average by 66% and 84%. Larimer County has allowed the fire restrictions to expire. Rocky Mountain National Park continues with their permanent Stage 1 restrictions.
