After hanging in eastern Iowa for a couple weeks and returning this past week, the dry down is very obvious. Lawns are brownish with some growth, trees look a bit tired and temperatures have been well above normal with no rainfall. The average temp in the past week reached 14.5 degrees above the normal. Harvest is underway with clouds of dust in the bean fields. Have not heard about or seen any fires. Water levels in streams and rivers continue to lower slowly. Leaf fall with a few trees has begun.
