Dry conditions have set in. There has been no measurable rainfall since September 23rd. Grass has stopped growing and is turning brown. Small cracks have developed in the ground. Area wide is Abnormally Dry per the US Drought Monitor. Harvest continues at a rapid pace, and conditions have become dusty. Mississippi River continues to get lower with each passing day. Rock River remained at a constant level which is still a little above normal for past dry spells. A little rain forecast for Monday into Monday night with no chances after that. At least the high heat will subside, and it should start feeling like fall. Elevated fire danger still continues for today.
