Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: IN-AL-60
Station Name: Fort Wayne 8.0 NE
Report Date: 12/4/2022
Submitted: 12/04/2022 1:34 PM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
Though moisture conditions remain rather dry, there were a few showers last week which helped. The ground is hard and frozen in spots while other areas are soft and spongy. With the continued colder temperatures and shortened daylight hours, the grass has become dormant, exhibiting a green to yellow to brown color. The retention pond is close to normal water levels. Water color ranges from brown to light gray. The culverts feeding into the pond are holding some standing water. The water there is shallow and clear in spots. A few Canadian Geese were seen at the water's edge. The pond itself was partially frozen for awhile but is currently without ice. Also, it has been very windy the past few days with prevailing winds mostly from the north.Birds coming to the feeders were cardinals, bluebirds, house sparrows, juncos, starlings, goldfinches, house finches, downy woodpeckers, and mourning doves.
