Another dry week, I recorded 0.0". I will take my condition to Mildly Dry. North facing slopes still have some snow but everywhere else, where the sun gets to, the snow is all but gone. My birds are still not using the feeders like normal. I have provided fresh seed and still the numbers are down. I suspect that some predator, a cat or hawk or both, is keeping them away. The pond is ice covered several inches thick except where the bubblier is. The local geese come to the open water everyday. The pond level is stable and at the overflow. The local creek is down to almost no flow and mostly ice covered. This week has been very cold but mostly sunny. I have had enough winter and would welcome some change.
