Condition Monitoring Report
Station Number: MI-AN-25
Station Name: Plainwell 0.5 WSW
Report Date: 1/23/2022
Submitted: 1/23/2022 8:03 AM
Scale Bar: Mildly Dry
Description:
We received a 0.27" of precipitation this past week, all coming as 5.3" of snow (4.6" of snow fell last night). We have had a continuous snowpack starting at 2.0" and currently 6.5". Our conditions are Mildly Dry because we are considerably behind our average precipitation for this time of year, though the current snowfall and some predicted Alberta clipper systems moving through this coming week should improve the precipitation picture. The usual birds have been seen daily at the bird-feeder this week. Temperatures this week have been seasonably cold to below average where only one day went briefly above freezing. Our energy usage has been high to heat the house. Local lakes and ponds have iced over and ice fishing continues. Local ski resorts are open and busy.
