| Description: |
Spring is finally beginning to arrive in the High Country. The trees in the valleys below us are showing green leaves while the mountain sides above us are still just bare grey trees. Some trees are beginning to show leaf buds at our elevation. The ground is soft and the little streams are all gurgling happily along. Walking on the trails will result in muddy shoes/boots. It appears we have had ample precipitation and groundwater levels are up. The pond is full and the water is a slightly murky, probably due to surface run-off from recent rains. Chipmunks, squirrels, and a ground-hog were seen on a walk today along with several varieties of birds. |
