 17 degrees and cloudy - with high, thin clouds. I have noted that while my snow depth readings are consistent, the amount of water in my samples is varying. I think this is because of the half-inch of ice underneath the snow which I cannot get my collection tube to break through. Hence, I collect the snow, jam a putty knife underneath and pick it up. This still leaves the ice attached to the ground. So I then chip away at the ice and collect what I believe to be the residue. That collection effort may be flawed somewhat because the ice sometimes goes all over the place! I grab what I estimate to be the correct number of pieces.
