Moderate rain (R) was falling at the beginning of the obs period (0700 MDT 30 July 2014). This continued with small to medium-size drops until 1100 MDT, then light rain (R-) until about 1215 MDT, but light drizzle continued. R- resumed 1400-1615 MDT. No rain for about an hour, and pavement almost dried out. R- resumed at 1730 MDT. Rain gauge emptied at 1735 MDT. Precip 1.43" since 0700 MDT. R- became R by 1900 MDT, then R- again by 2030 MDT, then R-- by 2130 MDT. Precip +.81" from 1735-2145 MDT. Another .01" rain from 2145 MDT 30 July to 0700 MDT 31 July, at which time drizzle was still falling. 24-h total precip 2.25". Surprisingly, no thunder heard during this time.
